I am a staff nurse and have worked in the Heartlands HIV service for approximately seven years. Before working in this department I had experience of working in other areas and specialities at University of Birmingham NHS Trust.
As an experienced staff nurse over the years I have seen the service grow and develop, and this year I was given the opportunity of working closely with the clinical nurse specialists for several months so that I could experience first hand the work that they do. In June this year I also represented the Heartlands nurses when I presented an oral abstract at the national HIV nurses conference held at Birmingham.
