Biography:

  • Working at Heart of England and University of Birmingham NHS Foundation Trusts as an OT since 2002
  • In current post since June 2010
  • Trained at Brunel University BSc Occupational Therapy
  • Leads OT service in HIV supporting both adult and adolescent services
  • Committee member of the Rehabilitation HIV Association (RHIVA)
  • Member of the Canada UK HIV Rehabilitation Research Collaborative (CUHRRC)
  • Delivers occupational Therapy assessment and intervention related to cognitive, physical and psychological areas of functioning.
  • Maintains professional development and clinical skills attending mandatory and supplementary training events
  • Trained in safe manual handling of patients and use of equipment relevant to OT role
  • OT practice educator co-ordinator – supervises students from Coventry University and co-ordinates the placements related to the acute OT service
  • Acts as supervisor to Band 6 OT staff and OT support workers
  • Health and care professions council (HCPC) registered OT
  • Member of British Association of Occupational Therapists (BAOT)

Interests:

  • Developing psychological OT service, particularly sleep hygiene
