As part of the University Hospitals Birmingham NHS Foundation Trust, Heartlands HIV Service has now adopted new guidance on hospital attendance.
You can read the full guidance here. Please familiarise yourself with it in full, and check back regularly for changes as the situation proceeds. In summary, the Trust has decided to:
- Scale down routine elective inpatient activity
- Carry out all appropriate outpatient appointments via video consultation or a telephone call, unless the patient requests otherwise
- Re-direct patients who have attended our Emergency Departments to more appropriate healthcare providers in the community
Unless you have received a telephone call or letter, you should attend your appointment as usual.
